Happiness

Quinn's Baptism

Grandma and Grandpa Pieper and Nana and Papa Thomas joined us in the wonderful celebration of Quinn's baptism last weekend.  Quinn was just as quiet as her brother was three years ago, taking in every word that Pastor Don said.  Hard to believe it was that long ago!  After the service, we celebrated at a yummy meal with family and our dear friend Kiersten.  It was another great weekend in Chicago.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

We had a very windy weekend and felt it was the perfect time to try Whit's new kite.  He actually was able to steer it "over here, and now over here" as he put on a show for Quinn.  Such an entertainer.

Easter 2013

Uncle Mike, Aunt Julia, and cousins Will and Eva came to visit us for Easter!  We had a wonderful time catching up and celebrating the holiday.

On the walk to dinner the first night, the two boys held hands as if no time had passed at all.

Then the poor children were subjected to Aunt Joy's flare for crazy holiday attire.

We were lucky to have two egg hunts this year!  The first was what I like to call controlled chaos at our community gathering.  It involved the release of sixty toddlers into a cordoned area to grab as many eggs as possible.  The chaos, however, did not come from the children - it came from the parents literally pushing others (like me) out of the way to grab cheap colored plastic objects for their kids.  I found it joyfully amusing...and may or may not have gleefully shoved back a little.

The likely exchange here was:
Will: Did you get any eggs?
Eva: Ahhh, two.
Will: Wow, that escalated quickly.  I mean it really got out of hand fast.  Did you see the man with the trident?

In stark contrast, here Will and Whit showed us the abundance of goodies that the Easter Bunny brought in the eggs he left in our yard.

Fun memories for all from a wonderful weekend!
